When’s the last time you hit F12 and looked at your Dashboard? What else do you have on there other than the calculator and iCal widgets? Give you Dashboard new life and functionality, it deserves it!
Here’s an extensive but certainly non-exhaustive list of Web 2.0 services Widgets for the Mac OS Dashboard. Sure some are better than others but the goal was to have as many as possible. If I overlooked any, please link to them in the comments.
Add This - With “add this” you can quickly add the website you are currently watching to a few “social bookmarking”-services.
Adobe kuler Dashboard Widget - Displays RSS feeds of color themes from kuler (kuler.adobe.com), an online application where members explore, create, and share color harmonies. Search thousands of titled and tagged themes.
Bloglines Notifier - Allows you to see the number of unread posts in your Bloglines RSS reader account at a glance.
Blogger Widget - This li’l guy makes it even easier to post to your blog.
Dailymotion Dashboard Widget - Automatically subscribes to the proper RSS feed and shows the last nine videos posted on Dailymotion. You can customise which feed is use to limit it to only one user of Dailymotion and/or a set of tags.
dashLicious - When you start Dashboard, dashLicious will automatically populate the URL and description fields from your browser to add to Delicious.
Dashalytics - A free Dashboard Widget for that offers quick access to Google Analytics statistics.
Del.icio.us Widget - Enables you to subscribe to a del.icio.us bookmark feed and easily browse your bookmarks from the comfort of your Dashboard.
DeezerWidget - Listen to music from Deezer with with this widget. (scroll to the bottom of the page to find download link)
digg.com Widget - A neat digg.com widget with a look and feel that resembles digg.com website.
Facebook - Look up student information on the facebook.com community.
Facebook Dashboard Widget - Facebook Widget is a dashboard widget developed for Mac OS X.
FaceCheckr - A widget for Facebook which shows your latest Facebook notifications on your Dashboard.
Flick’it - Feed your Flickr from our Dashboard.
Flickr Explorer - Your source of fresh and awesome looking photos.
Flickr Interestingness - Everyone loves looking at beautiful and unusual photographs, flickr rates photos like this with a level of “interestingness”.
Flidget - Can upload your photos to Flickr — just drag it into the Flidget, enter tags and click “Upload”.
Fotolog Widget - With just taking a look at your Dashboard you will know how many comments you have received in your fotolog.
Google Apps - The Google Apps Dashboard widget allows to to acces various Google Web-based applications right from your Dashboard, by using a Mac OS X Dock-like setting.
