The makers of Flowplayer have just released a new user interface library for web developers based on the jQuery framework called jQuery Tools. Their main argument for this set of tools: the official jQuery UI library contains too many functions unadapted to the world of web design and development.
Do you really need drag and drop, resizables, selectables, modal dialogs or sliders in your web applications? Websites are not desktop applications. [...] What you really need is tabs, tooltips, accordions, overlays, smooth navigations, great visual effects and all those “web 2.0″ goodies that you have seen on your favorite website.

Boone Oakley, a full service ad agency based in Charlotte North Carolina, has created a lot of buzz online this past week with their new site made up entirely of YouTube clips.
Taking full advantage of YouTube’s annotations and in-video links, the North Carolina agency was able to create a rich user experience with multiple pages, all within YouTube. Visits to www.boonoakley.com get redirected to their video homepage which explains in short how to use this new site and what they do. From here, annotation links direct users to other videos containing client work, company information and contact details.

If the Blog has been down these last few days it’s because I was updating it, again. I know I just redesigned the theme about a month ago but I quickly realized that I was limited by its layout. After being inspired by a template I saw on Deviantart, I opted for a new, cleaner layout that will give me lots of room to easily add new features and modules as the blog grows.
